Razor A6 Review – 2022’s Best New Kick Scooter? Posted in: Product Reviews, Scooters – Tags: Adult scooters, product reviews, razor a6, razor a6 review, razor a6 scooter
Razor is the godfather of the entire kick scooter industry. They brought the foldable kick scooter to the forefront in the early 2000’s and killed the toy scene.
Back in those days, the tiny, janky, rattling hunks of aluminum would demand $150 each! Insane to even think about when you can afford to buy something like the Razor A6 Scooter for less than that.
- Designed and built specifically for taller riders
- Features Razor’s tallest handlebars, adjustable up to an incredible height of 42” (1067 mm), and extra-long, 13.4” (340 mm) deck for more foot room
- Spoked, ultra-large 10” (254 mm), urethane wheels and super-strong, aluminum frame with patent-pending, anti-rattle handlebars and folding mechanism, ensure the smoothest, quietest ride around
As it stands the Razor A6 is the follow-up to the ultra-successful Razor A5 Lux, which has been on the market for what seems like forever. On Amazon, the item dates back to about 3 years ago but I’d estimate that the A5 has been available for more like 6 years.
During this span of time scooters have changed quite a bit. The proof is in the pudding of the Razor A6, Razor’s newest adult kick scooter designed to tackle the streets and alleviate some of the clunkiness in the previous model. So let’s get into the specifics!
Razor A6 Scooter at a Glance: The whole purpose of the A6 is to upgrade the terribly outdated Razor A5 Lux, on the newer model you’ll see premium upgrades like larger wheels and superior finishes. Overall the scooter is larger and faster and riders will appreciate these noticeable differences.
Razor A6 Review – Side by Side Comparison
Let’s see what happens when the Razor A6 VS Razor A5 happens! Consider these differences.
Deck Size: The Razor A6 deck is 4.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches long, in comparison the A5 Lux is smaller with a deck measuring 4 inches. The diagram below courtesy of letskickitscoot.com shows what kind of deck space you could expect with the A5 Lux.
For a taller person, the A6 is the better option as its handlebars will extend to a height of 42 inches from the ground.
Razor A6 Weight – When you throw it on the scale the Razor A6 will weigh in a little heavier than its predecessor but that is not a bad thing. The A6 weighs about 12 pounds a three-pound increase over the A5 Lux however the added weight comes in the way of premium materials and higher quality finishes.
As a result, there are fewer rattles and a more sturdy adult kick scooter, think of the A5 as a Volkswagen but the A6 as a BMW better build with noticeable extras.
Razor A6 Wheel Size – Upon first seeing the A6 scooter its larger wheels were a game-changer. It’s almost unreasonable that no one stepped up to the plate and brought larger wheels to this scooter segment. Thinking logically about the matter larger wheels mean more speed, heightened ability to go over rocks and debris… basically, a win-win.
The Razor’s wheels look great too, the 6 spoke split design presents a multidirectional pattern that is both appealing and functional.

However, that price point is there the A5 can be bought on sale for prices as low as $59.99 but the A6 scooter is going to fetch at least $129.99 that’s over double the price.
Which scooter is better Razor A6 vs A5?
The Razor A6 scooter is the winner! It’s actually a much better scooter than the Razor A5 scooter! The A5 might be less expensive but it doesn’t have the same amount of cool features that the Razor A6 has.
